If you are reading this article, you are probably looking for information on how to put together your own home recording studio. With the vast selection of equipment available nowadays, putting together a home recording studio can seem a bit mind boggling. This article is here to break down the basic elements that you will need to build a home recording studio from the ground up. Once you understand what elements are needed, you will find that building a home recording studio is easier than you think.

1. Computer
The first item you need for your home recording studio is a great computer. A computer is the foundation of your home recording studio. It will determine how fast and effectively your recording software will run and how much storage space will be available to hold all of your recording sessions.

Both MAC and PC can effectively get the job done; its simply a matter of individual preference. The main things to look for, when purchasing a computer or having one custom built, are the specifications (specs). What you should try to do is get the fastest processor (CPU), the most memory (RAM), and a largest hard drive you can possibly afford. You should also make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements of the recording software and audio interface you plan to use.

All computers have motherboards; the place where the CPU, RAM, hard drive, and many other components are connected. Your motherboard will have minimum and maximum specs that let you know the absolute slowest and fastest speeds that your computer is capable of. This is great to know because it will help you determine how much your computer can be upgraded in the future, if you decide to start off with the minimum specs now. This way, if you cannot afford the fastest components immediately, you are able to start off with a more affordable configuration (closer to the minimum specs) and upgrade later.

When I first put together my home recording studio, I decided to use a PC running on Windows XP Home Edition. Initially, my computer had a Pentium 4 2.8GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, and an 80GB hard drive. These specs worked fine until I started mixing sessions with a lot more tracks and plug-ins than usual; my 2.8GHz CPU simply could not keep up. So I upgraded to a Pentium 4 3.2GHz Extreme CPU that was able to handle the workload. I also added another gigabyte of RAM for a total of 2GB. Then, since I was running out of storage space, after recording over 5 albums worth of material on my 80GB hard drive, I upgraded to a 250GB master hard drive and an additional 160GB slave drive; giving me at total of 410GB of storage space. And the best part was, I never had to change my motherboard and my computer system was still running below the maximum specs. So, if you simply do not have the funds available now to build a super-computer with the fastest components, you can start off smaller and build up later.

You should also make sure that your computer system comes with some type of CD burner. This way you can burn CDs and make backups of all your projects just in case your system crashes (it can happen).

If you are totally confused about computer specs, you should definitely contact a computer specialist to help you decipher all the technical computer jargon. There are also many great articles online.

2. Recording Software
The next component that you will need for your home recording studio is multitrack recording software. Multitrack recording software allows you to record, edit, and mix multiple tracks of music or sound on your computer. For example, on track 1 you could record an electric guitar, on track 2, an acoustic guitar, track 3 bass, track 4-10 drums, track 11 vocals and track 12 strings. Once everything is recorded, you can edit any mistakes, make new arrangements, mix your tracks, and save multiple versions of your music. Then you can burn everything to CD for future sale or your listening pleasure.

There are many multitrack recording software packages available. Although they all function in similar ways, each has their own unique platform and individual functionality. Some of the most popular software packages are Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, and Digital Performer.

One point to consider when choosing your recording software is portability; the ability to take a session recorded at your home studio to another recording studio. If you plan to work with others, find out what software theyre using, and get that software too. This will allow you to easily interchange sessions and collaborate with others. Choosing a software program that is very popular among industry professionals, like Pro Tools, can make portability easier, should you decide to have your home recorded projects edited or mixed by a professional engineer.

3. Audio Interface
An audio interface is the link between the outside world and your computer. It connects your equipment, instruments, and microphones to your multitrack recording software via USB, Firewire, or other connection types. When choosing an audio interface, you should determine how many inputs and outputs you will need simultaneously. If you will be recording an entire band or multiple instruments at the same time, make sure that your audio interface has that many inputs. On the other hand, in many home studio environments, such as those generally recording Hip Hop, R&B and Pop, only one input is needed at a given time. Therefore, you can effectively record as many tracks as you need with only one MIC input and one LINE input. This is because multitrack recording software allows you to record each instrument, one at a time, while listening to your previously recorded instruments (this is called overdubbing). Many audio interfaces are built with this in mind, and can be very affordable. Also, make sure that the audio interface you choose is compatible with your recording software. Failure to check compatibility can put you in a situation where the recording software does not recognize your audio interface; making it impossible for audio to be recorded.

4. Preamp
The next component you need is a preamp. Heres the deal, most audio interfaces have built-in preamps. A preamps job is to boost signal to the optimal level for recording sound to your multitrack recording software. Although, you can achieve professional sounding results by connecting your microphone or instrument directly to your audio interface and using its built-in preamp, another consideration may be the use of an external preamp made for recording a specific instrument; like vocals, electric guitar, bass, keyboard etc. For example, if you plan to record vocals, you may consider getting a higher-end vocal preamp for a more detailed and higher quality sound. However, if you decide not to get an external preamp, be sure that the audio interface you choose has a preamp built-in. You can also find an all-in-one unit that contains an audio interface, preamp, and mixer. If you decide to go this route, as with the audio interface, be sure that your all-in-one unit is compatible with your recording software.

5. Microphone
Your studio microphone will allow you to record vocals and other instruments to your multitrack recording software. Your microphone will be connected to either your preamp or audio interface. One of the most popular types of recording microphones is the condenser microphone. Many of the CDs in stores today were recorded with the use of a condenser microphone; both for vocals and other instruments. Condenser mics generally require a special type of power called phantom power, in order to work properly. Most microphone preamps and audio interfaces have a phantom power switch readily available. Be sure to check for the availability of phantom power on your preamp or audio interface, if you plan to use a condenser microphone.

In addition to the condenser, other types of microphones, such as dynamic mics and ribbon mics, may also be considered for home recording; depending on the instrument you plan to record. Each microphone has its own sonic character and application. You can find lots of information on when to use a specific microphone type online and in recording books.

In addition, a few accessories that you should have are: a mic stand, pop filter and a shock-mount. A mic stand will allow you to effectively position your microphone for optimal sound, while recording a vocalist or instrument. A pop filter will help eliminate unwanted pop sounds as a result of large gusts of breath caused by p words. And lastly, a shock-mount will help isolate your microphone from unwanted vibrations caused by external motion and rumbling sound waves. Many professional recording microphones come with a shock-mount included, so you may not need to buy one separately.

6. Studio Monitors/Headphones
A studio monitor is recording industry jargon for recording speaker. The reason it is called a monitor is that it is designed to give you a clear sonic picture and more detailed listening environment than the standard home stereo speaker. Studio monitors are used for critical listening while recording and mixing music.

There are generally two types of studio monitors; powered and non-powered. Powered monitors have built-in amplifiers and all you have to do is plug them in and turn them on. Non-powered, on the other hand, require an external power amp to function. So, if you simply want studio monitors that work, right out of the box and do not want to deal with buying an external power amp and having to match wattage levels, get powered monitors; its simply more convenient.

In addition to studio monitors, studio headphones are also recommended for detailed listening. If you will be running your entire home recording studio out of one room, headphones are essential. They will allow you to hear what is being recorded without having to play your music through the studio monitors. This way, if you want to record vocals in the same room, you can turn off your studio monitors and listen through your headphones. This will ensure that your microphone does not pick up music coming out of your studio monitors; just your voice or instrument. If you plan to record with others, you may want to consider picking up a more than one pair of studio headphones along with a headphone amp, allowing each person to listen and adjust their headphones to a comfortable level.

7. Acoustic Treatment
So far, you have everything to you need to record at home. Acoustic treatment takes home recording a step further by improving the sound of your recording environment (your room, vocal area, etc.). All recording studios use some type of acoustic treatment to improve both the quality of sound being recorded and the quality of sound being monitored. Most rooms are not built for recording and need to be adjusted for optimum sound. Failure to utilize acoustic treatment, especially when recording vocals and other instruments with a microphone, can result in unwanted room ambience being recorded as well; which can be impossible to remove once recorded. Auralex has a great free Acoustics 101 handbook that will give you more information on acoustic treatment and how to make your room sound better.

Commercial Mortgage Modification

In todays crumbling, commercial real estate market, both borrowers and lenders find themselves in quite a precarious predicament. Borrowers struggle to make their commercial mortgage payments, while lenders are crippled by the increasing number of defaults on commercial property. Right now the best solution to this problem is commercial mortgage modification.

Commercial mortgage modification is the process of renegotiating the terms of a commercial loan. This is done typically by reducing the interest rate or monthly payment on the loan. Other benefits to the borrower may include an extension of the loan term, a forbearance or moratorium on payments, and of course an alternative to foreclosure.

A commercial mortgage modification is about risk to the lender. A lender will only consider a modification if a borrower is in default or at risk of defaulting. The most important thing the lender will look at in determining whether or not to modify a commercial note is cash flow. One very important calculation used in determining cash flow is called the DCR or Debt Coverage Ratio. This ratio is used by the underwriters to determine if a modification can be approved. If a property is breaking even, meaning the income generated is equal to the operating expenses, the DCR would be equal to 1. If commercial property has a positive cash flow, meaning the income the property generates is more than sufficient to cover the mortgage payment and all of the operating expenses, the DCR is greater than 1. If the property is losing money, the DCR would be less than 1. A lender will most likely not modify the commercial note, if the property already has a DCR greater than 1. Commercial lenders writing new commercial loans will most likely require a DCR of 1.25 or greater.

The most common form of payment reduction seen in a commercial mortgage modification is when the lender converts a principal and interest payment to an interest only payment. A lender may consider this form of commercial loan modification to help the borrower improve their cash flow. By only paying the interest on the loan, as opposed to principal and interest, the payment becomes more affordable for the borrower.

However, in extreme circumstances, reducing the mortgage payment to interest only is just not enough for a commercial property owner. If a lender sees that the borrower will still have negative cash flow even after reducing the payment to interest only, they may consider a reduction in the interest rate. Although the interest rate reduction may be temporary, it will help the borrower free up capital and maintain the mortgage payment on time. Although uncommon, lenders have lowered interest rates to as low as 1% even, to avoid an even more costly foreclosure.

Condominium Conversions, Myths And Reality

Let us examine, what the prospects of condominium conversions in the coming years are and how recent trends affect its popularity.

The Popularity
The reason why most people prefer owning a condominium rather than paying rent every month is that they can save a lot of money in real estate investing. All they have to do is to make an affordable initial investment and they can get rid of paying monthly rents. The overall prices are very low. However, Condo units do not allow the buyer to maintain his/her own lawn and garden, and other amenities like pools. But, the overall percentage of such people is very low, and there is a huge number of buyers in the real estate investing market who do not mind the presence of neighbors, and in fact, who love the active participation in community events.

Now, let me talk from the point of view of investors. Real estate investors have got an inexpensive but much more effective way of increasing their bank balance in the form of condominium conversion. True, they do have to pay a premium for the real estate investing properties. Still, the overall cost of purchasing an apartment and turning them into Condos by renovation is far less expensive. Therefore, it is worth paying a premium for properties. Again, the buyers are available in the market and you can convince them easily to buy the same. Eventually, you get a huge return that not only covers your expenditure for the premium but earns you more than you could have earned by means of other real estate businesses.

The Prospects
Recent trends are leading the real estate investing market to a rising-rate environment. It looks like very soon buyers will not be able to get mortgage at low interest rates. Affordability of the price was the biggest advantage with condominium units, but if the price becomes unreachable, how will the converters sell their Condos? Thus, not only will the buyers lose a great opportunity of owning their own house, but even the converts will face a big loss. Since the renovation of the real estate investing property costs much, in such cases, they might also have to bear losses. Eventually, this may force them to stop turning apartments into Condos, and investing in the renovation of the same. It clearly means the end of the Condos conversion boom.

However, all this is not very practical. You should not take it as representing a threat to the Condo conversion business. Even if mortgage rates increase, it will not stop real estate investing buyers to purchase Condos. After all, who wants to pay rent all their life? People want their own houses, and whatever be the circumstances, Condos will still be the most affordable option for them in the contemporary market. In fact, if you look around, converters are highly excited with the heavy returns they have earned from the condominium conversion, and they are in no mood to quit. Moreover, in all the major cities all over the world, it is now almost impossible to find any location for new development, let alone a prime location.

Therefore, the future of condominium conversion is bright, and any rising-rate real estate investing market is not likely to affect the popularity of Condos.

A mortgage is a long-term financial commitment and you have to maintain the monthly repayments for the full duration of the mortgage. Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance(MPPI) is just one of a range of valuable insurances which includes critical illness insurance and life insurance, which you can use to reduce that risk and protect your family’s finances. The purpose of MPPI is to ensure that you have the income to continue paying yourmortgage repaymentsif you’re off work for an extended period due to accident, sickness or unemployment.
The Top Tips
Some mortgage lenders may try to coerce you into taking out an MPPI policy along with your mortgage. If this happens, make sure you find out how much extra theMortgage Payment Protection Insurancecover will cost you each month. Then get on the Internet and get some competitive quotations. Most people will find that the Internet saves them up to 60%!
Mortgage lenders will only quote you for the amount of cover you need to meet your monthly mortgage repayments. The author recommends that you extend the cover to include the cost of your home & contents insurance, mortgage life insurance, and the cost of any investment plan you have arranged to repay your mortgage (the investment plan only applies to mortgages where you are only paying the interest each month and will be repaying the capital at the end of the mortgage).
You can take out MPPI at any time. Some people wrongly believe that you can only take out MPPI when you arrange the mortgage.
If your employment is casual or seasonal you will not be able to claim on anMortgage Payment Protection Insurancepolicy. Every policy has what are called exclusions and seasonal and casual work is a typical exclusion. Exclusions are the circumstances under which a claim will be refused. Be sure to read these exclusions before you take out the policy and, if your circumstances mean that you’re unlikely to be able to make a valid claim, don’t buy the insurance! Exclusions on MPPI policies can eliminate 50% of potential claims. The cheapest is not always the best. So don’t automatically opt for the cheapest policy. The circumstances under which policies pay out do vary – so check them out cautiously. The premium quoted will be a reflection of the extent of the exclusions in the policy, the level of cover provided and the insurers general pricing policy.
Mortgage Payment Protection Insuranceis sold under a number of alternative names. So don’t get confused. It can also be described as Accident Sickness and Unemployment Insurance, Payment Care and Payment Cover. In principle, they are the same but remember to check out the exclusions!
Most MPPI policies say that you must be off work for a minimum period before you can claim. The longest period you’ll find is 60 days but many policies reduce this to 30 days. Some will then backdate the payment to the first day you were off work. Look out for the details which you’ll find in the policy’s Terms and Conditions. Always check these out before you buy – and remember to compare like with like when you’re comparing prices.
Don’t confuse Mortgage Indemnity Insurance (MIG) withMortgage Payment Protection Insurance. MIG provides insurance cover for a lender for any losses they might suffer as a result of a property on which they provided a mortgage being sold for less than the value of the outstanding mortgage. All payments under aMIG policygo to the lender, not you!
If you have Permanent Health Insurance your may not need MPPI. Check out the terms of youPHI policyand then make your mind up whether MPPI is adding anything extra.
If you already haveCritical Illness Insurancebe aware that there is a level of duplication with MPPI. MPPI will pay an income during the insured period for any illness that prevents you from working. Critical illness Insurance pays out a lump sum if you have any of the chronic illnesses listed on the critical illness policy (other conditions apply). So if you have a valid claim under your critical illness policy, you will probably also have a valid claim under your MPPI policy. However, if the illness that’s keeping you off work is not listed on the chronic list then only yourMortgage Payment Protection Insurancepolicy will payout.

Building a Secret Compartment

Everyone has something to hide from the curious eyes of others. It can be personal property as well as confidential documents. There are many possibilities of whatever that has to be in the home. The most popular and convenient is the ordinary hard cover book. A book may seem innocent but it has served many people through ages as a perfect hiding place. Following are some simple instructions for building a secret compartment in an easy way.

Materials Needed: -Hard cover book, almost 2 inches thick -Glue sticks and glue gun -White glue -Small paint brush -Craft knife

Step One: First, the dust jacket has to be removed from the book. It will be later used with some pages which will serve as a cover for the secret compartment.

At least 25 pages are needed which should be left untouched by the craft knife. When this has been laid out, equal amount of water and white glue has to be combined. The plastic wrap has to be used to protect the back cover, many front pages and the front cover from glue spills. There should not be any trace of glue left on the book as it can give a hint that it has been tampered.

Step Two: When everything is in place, the glue mixture can be used for making remaining pages of the book to stick with each other. Paintbrush has to be used for applying generous amount of glue on top, bottom and side areas of each page. The glue should be kept in line about half inch back from the edge being invisible from an informal look. The book should be kept closed after applying the glue and a heavy object can be placed on it for keeping the pages intact, it has to be given several hours to dry completely.

Step Three: When the glue has dried, the protective plastic covering can be removed from both sides of the book. The desired length, width and depth of the secret compartment can be measured. A pencil and ruler can be used to draw the outline of the hollow inside the book. It has to be again made sure to remain well back from the edges so the book will be as strong as possible. Now the inner block of the pages can be taken out using the craft knife. The cut pages can be taken out one by one, the edges can be trimmed. It should be returned to the dust jacket for making it look as normal as possible and it can now be placed on the book shelf.

Why Rent Commercial Property

When your business needs to be started from scratch, there are many decisions you need to make. As most people don’t want to take on the stresses or risks involved in buying commercial property, they gladly settle their businesses in their homes. But as stated in my previous blog, how long are you going to use your home as an office?

When your business begins to extend, you will ultimately need an external office space that’s different from your home. As a result, people in UAE resort to buying property unlike the other few who use someone else’s property by paying a fixed amount of AED as rent. Why should you rent commercial property in Dubai?

When the roof of the rented place blows away, when there is a problem with the electricity or any other problem linked to the physical maintenance of the space that you have rented, you actually have no problem. All these issues fall into the mailbox of the one who owns the space, as your business is just a tenant living there. You have nothing to do with these things and hence your finances and attention can be properly concentrated on your work. Why risk your business for the sake of owned property? If not now, your business will receive that important place in the market at a later stage. Till then, a commercial rental property in Dubai will do just fine.

Houses Vs. Condominiums

There are two popular types of housing in the Philippines today, condominiums and the typical house. Condominiums, though it was only recently that it was introduced in the Philippine market compared to apartments and townhouses, have become very popular because of its many benefits that other types of housing lacks.

Though condominiums have significantly gained a lot of attention in past years, there are still a lot of Filipinos opting for houses rather than a condominium unit, which is also the reason why the number of new houses for sale Philippines kept on growing. So what are the advantages that both of these types of housing can give to their residents, making them the most competitive types of housing in the Philippines?

In terms of location Condominiums are far ahead when it comes to location. Most condominiums are known for its location near or within business and commercial districts, such as the many towering condominiums in Makati City, or in Ortigas, Pasig City. However, in terms of family-oriented location, most houses are known for this.

Houses are normally found in the suburbs, which are found a few miles away from these cities, allowing its residents to live in a peaceful environment perfect for a growing family, while allowing them access to these locations. However, there are a few numbers of condominiums in the market today that allowed its residents to live in peaceful, relaxing, and quiet locations. These types of condominiums are mostly known as condominium complexes.

In terms of affordability When it comes to affordability, these new houses for sale Philippines are known to provide the cheapest houses in the market. Because most of these condominiums are found in the city, their cost are usually higher than other types of houses. Though it can provide the luxury of location as well as lifestyle, many Filipinos have said that the cost of living in these condominiums could allow them to buy a new 2-story high house in Manila or in other locations such as in some parts of Quezon City and Caloocan City.

However, a number of condominium complexes are known for its affordability. But according to many Filipinos, these cheaper condominiums are mostly found in the outskirts, which are mostly found away from the city, farther than suburbans where houses are mostly found. And the price range of buying one of these condominiums is said to be similar to the price range of new houses for sale Philippines, but can offer more rooms and size.

In terms of amenities In amenities, condominiums are mostly known for its own amenities. Condominium complexes are similar to townhouse complexes in terms of location, land, as well as with its amenities. Similar to townhouse complexes, these new condominiums are also known to provide amenities that residents can freely but exclusively enjoy such as swimming pools, gyms, recreational parks, and playgrounds.

However, a number of new housing communities or complexes are said to provide the same amenities but with cheaper housing for Filipinos. This is the reason why houses are still known to compete in the market widely dominated by condominiums. For more information visit to our site at http://www.atayala.com

Are You Ready For The Throne Of Thunder Raid

With patch 5.2 round the horizon, one amongst the items I’ve noticed in my society is the energizing result of the incoming content. Our flagging interest has been rehabilitated – we tend even killing new heroic bosses that we hadn’t gotten around to with recent events stepping into the means. If there was AN opposite to a sensation of close doom, patch 5.2 has it definitely. An close sense of hope and optimism? no matter it is, it’s real and I am seeing it all over I turn.

Being the sort of one that usually flees from hope like a evil spirit flees from a subprime mortgage (they value more highly to buy outright, those crafty vampires) I find this experience confusing, baffling, and alittle merit study. I don’t recall so much excitement for a patch in recent memory. Thus what’s got everybody thus excited regarding patch 5.2?

Dinosaur mounts.

Okay, there’s a lot of to that than that, or the dinomancers with their dinomancy (and yes,I might love to play a dinomancer) or the prospect to wipe out the Zandalar once and for all, that as a Hero of the Zandalar Tribe I’m alittle conflicted regarding. A lot more, actually. But those things actually don’t hurt.

In part, I believe we’re just hit the repetition fatigue threshold with the patch 5.0 raids. I started predatory them in early october, in conjunction with everybody else, having burned my way to ninety asap on my main. Whereas having 3 separate raids to table tennis between helped alleviate stagnation (as did keeping the total releases back for a number of weeks) ultimately, we’re close to at the right moment to modify to a brand new raid. I’m not bored with the Tier fourteen raids however but I believe I would get there in another month or 2. I’m not sure if I would argue that six months (October to March) is often the butter zone for a raid tier’s life cycle, but I even have noticed that once you start going past eight, individuals get cranky. With the arrival of LFR, even folks that don’t extremely raid are tied to the raid cycle since that becomes their content moreover through raid finder groups.

Another side is daily quests. No, this is not another daily quest whine. You’ve got all detected Pine Tree State complain regarding them, but that’s not what I’m on regarding. Patch 5.1 additional the Operation Shieldwall/Dominance Offensive quest hubs, but other than that we’ve all been grinding the same name since late Sep. Patch 5.2 inbound once it will means that we’re half-way through the first year of Mists, and as a result the variety of choice we’re given as players is starting to become acquainted to North American country. Even somebody like Pine Tree State will say that I’ve done the daily quest grind on multiple characters now. Having the Kirin Tor and Sunreavers appear in 5.2 means that players who pay plenty of your time doing dailies not only have new dailies, but their alts will have a lot of choice on that dailies to do in a couple of months. It’s all regarding longevity.

But I ought to also admit, Blizzard has done a really sensible job in setting the stage for patch 5.2. Frankly, i believe this can be in part due to the uniform improvement in the use of voice acting this growth. It’s far more rife, plenty a lot of expansive, and overall significantly improved. the choice to use Lorewalker Cho because the speaker for the patch 5.2 cinematic trailer was a perfect example on how Mists of Pandaria has manage to use these voices to form its own voice. Even characters like Lor’themar Theron and Jaina Proudmoore have had a brand new lease on life with distended dialog (and in Lor’themar’s case, a wholly new voice actor). In many ways, patch 5.1 served as a wonderful preview for 5.2, inform North American country in the direction of the conflict to come.

In the end, though, I believe the explanation individuals are excited for patch 5.2 is that Blizzard has succeeded in making Pandaria the land both new and exotic and however acquainted and recognizably World of Warcraft. looking the trailer specifically offers Pine Tree State that sense that here may be a raid that’s not unknown to North American country – the large, sweeping dungeon advanced of recent, one we have seen time and again from Karazhan and Black Temple to Naxxramas, Ulduar and independent agency – and however abundant with fights that are recognizably Pandarian in their uncommon and fascinating thrives. Reading GuildOx’s interview with ion Hazzikostas i was smitten with the concept of the scope, simply in terms of how large the new raid is. I’m not even talking regarding the islet of Thunder itself and how a lot of style experience Blizzard has now. Reading Ion’s commentary it’s apparent that this can be a raid designed by folks that have in depth experience. we have seen previews of that experience realised over the past few months and now we’re on the point of see it up shut and in person.
